Day 1: Arrival in Bhutan – Paro to Thimphu

Arrive at Paro International Airport, one of the world’s most scenic airports.
Warm welcome by your tour guide and drive to Thimphu (55 km, 1.5 hours).
En route, stop for a cultural orientation at Tachogang Lhakhang, a 15th-century temple built by the great saint Thangthong Gyalpo, famous for his iron bridge craftsmanship.
After check-in at the hotel, visit the Memorial Chorten, built in honor of the Third King of Bhutan, followed by a stroll through Tashi Chho Dzong, the summer residence of the Chief Abbot and the administrative seat of Bhutan.
📍 Overnight in Thimphu (Altitude: 2,320m)

Day 2: Thimphu to Punakha – Via Dochula Pass

After breakfast, visit Simtokha Dzong, the oldest fortress in Bhutan, built in 1629.
Drive to Dochula Pass (3,100m), offering stunning views of the Himalayas.
Visit the Druk Wangyel Chortens, 108 memorial stupas.
Descend into Punakha Valley (1,200m), stopping for lunch at Menchuna Restaurant.
Walk through scenic rice fields to reach Chimi Lhakhang, the Fertility Temple dedicated to the Divine Madman, Drukpa Kunley.

Day 3: Explore Punakha & Drive to Paro

Start the day with a scenic drive along the Mo Chu River and a hike to Khamsum Yulley Namgyel Lhakhang, a stunning hilltop temple.
Visit Punakha Dzong, the most beautiful and historically significant dzong in Bhutan, strategically built at the confluence of the Pho Chu and Mo Chu rivers.
After lunch, return to Paro via Dochula Pass (133 km, 6-7 hours), with rest stops for refreshments.
