Yuksom Relax & Walks

Today, relax and prepare for your trek in Yuksom, the first capital of Sikkim. Take a 3-hour round trip walk to Dubdi Monastery to warm up for tomorrow's adventure.
In the evening, meet your guide for a trek briefing. Enjoy the serene atmosphere and get ready for the journey ahead!
Yuksom-Sachen (Dzongri trek starts from today) (2684m)
Approximate distance: 16 km.Est. Travel Time: 6 hours
The trek from Yuksom to Sachen and Bakhim spans approximately 16 km and takes about 6-8 hours. The trail winds through lush, moss-laden forests filled with oak, chestnut, pine, fir, magnolia, and rhododendron, creating a botanist's paradise. You'll encounter numerous wild orchids, birds, and butterflies along the way.
You'll cross three side streams and the Prek Chu River before a steep ascent. The well-maintained trail includes switchbacks and potential encounters with herders. The final 3-4 km involves a challenging ascent to Bakhim, leading to your overnight rest at Sachen.
Sarchen to Tsokha (3048m)
Approximate distance: 10 km.Est. Travel Time: 2 hours
- Beyond Bakhim, you'll enter a temperate forest filled with massive rhododendrons. The steep trail climbs to 3,950m, where you'll emerge with your first views of the towering Himalayan peaks.Today's trek to Tsokha, a yak herder village, takes only 1-2 hours. Spend the day resting and acclimatizing in the serene mountain atmosphere before continuing your journey.
Tsokha- Dzongri (4024m)
Approximate distance: 11 km.Est. Travel Time: 7 hours
Start your ascent to Dzongri, an 11 km trek taking about 6 to 7 hours. The trail climbs steeply through rhododendron and oak forests, crossing streams and waterfalls. Enjoy a snack break at the picturesque Phedang meadow, and take in stunning views of Mount Pandim, Mount Kabru, and Mount Jopuno along the way.
Upon reaching Dzongri at 4,020 meters, relax in the beautiful meadow surrounded by majestic peaks, ideal for sunrise and sunset views. Spend the rest of the day resting and exploring the area.
Dzongri Top and retrun to Tsokha(4024m)
Approximate distance: 5 km.Est. Travel Time: 2 hours
Rise early to witness the breathtaking sunrise over Mount Kanchenjunga, the third highest peak in the world at 8,598m. After enjoying the stunning views, you can explore nearby yak huts or additional viewpoints. Return to Dzongri by afternoon to start your journey back to Tsokha. This unforgettable sunrise is a highlight of your trek!
Tsokha-Yuksam
Approximate distance: 16 km.Est. Travel Time: 7 hours
On the final day of the trek, you will trek back from Tsokha to Yuksom, covering approximately 16 km in about 6 to 7 hours. The trail follows the same route as before, passing through dense forests and crossing several small streams.
Upon reaching Yuksom, take the time to rest and relax for the remainder of the day.
Yuksom-Gangtok
Approximate distance: 115 km.Est. Travel Time: 4 hours
After breakfast, embark on your drive to Gangtok with your trekking team, enjoying lunch en route. If time permits, consider a visit to the Temi Tea Garden. Arrive in Gangtok by evening and check into your hotel or homestay.
