Tour Plan
Day 1: Guwahati to Shillong via Umiam Lake
Stop at Umiam Lake (Barapani) for a brief break. Enjoy the picturesque views of the lake surrounded by hills and pine trees. Optional: Take a boat ride on the lake (if time permits) or relax and enjoy the beauty of the area. After spending some time at Umiam Lake, proceed to Shillong, which is around 15-20 km away. Check-in to your accommodation in Shillong. Explore the local markets or take a leisurely walk in the area. Optional: If you have time in the afternoon, you can visit nearby attractions in Shillong like Elephant Falls, Shillong Peak, or Ward’s Lake.
Day 2: Shillong to Cherrapunji
Alternatively, you can explore Garden Caves, which offer a similar experience in terms of rock formations and natural beauty. If time permits, you can visit the famous Nohkalikai Falls on the way back. It’s one of the tallest waterfalls in India and offers stunning views. Otherwise, head back to Shillong.
Day 3: Cherrapunji to Dawki via Mawlyngbna

Day 4: Dawki to Shillong
Krang Suri Falls is a stunning, turquoise-blue waterfall surrounded by lush greenery. The falls are easily accessible, and you can take a short trek down to the base of the falls to get a closer view or even take a dip in the cool waters if you wish.
Spend about 45 minutes to 1 hour enjoying the falls and the surrounding beauty. Next, head towards Phe Phe Falls, located about 30 minutes away from Krang Suri Falls. Phe Phe Falls is a less-visited but equally beautiful waterfall, with a more secluded feel. It’s a great spot to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
Spend around 30 minutes to 1 hour at the falls, exploring the area and soaking in the natural beauty. After the visit to Phe Phe Falls, stop for lunch at a local eatery or restaurant in the area. Try some traditional Khasi dishes or fresh local fish. After lunch, start your drive back to Shillong, which will take approximately 3-4 hours (around 100 km). The drive will take you through the scenic hills and valleys of Meghalaya. You’ll reach Shillong in the late afternoon or early evening, completing a beautiful day of exploration.
